Subject: Uprading Domino 8.5.2 FP2 to 8.5.3 crashed
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Crash
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Unknown

I attempted upgrading our Windows 2008 R2 from Domino 8.5.2 FP2 to 8.5.3 this morning, but that didn't go too well :-(

Running the "lotus_domino853_w64_en.exe" went without any problems or messages. When trying to start the Domino service I got a message telling me the server had to be reboot'ed.
That's quick because it is virtualized.
But trying to start Domino did not work.

In the Event View'er I could see Errors relating to scontroller.exe and jconsole.exe.

I tried just a few things like rebooting again and a breakdown of the server by removing most content in Notes.ini, but the processes obviously crashed before getting to the Notes.ini so it had no effect.

I re-installed 8.5.2 and added FP1 and FP2 and the server is now running OK again.

Anybody have any experience performing such upgrade or any suggestions to what I should check or logs to check etc. I will be happy to perform the upgrade againg if someone has any specific hints to anything I should try or info to pull from the system after another upgrade has crashed again ?
